Failure to receive claims via email

I had a home birth on 26 March 2013. I paid the service provider directly for the procedures but had great difficulty with her not knowing which codes to use on the invoice. I emailed my claim before four months have passed and received an automatic response confirming the receipt of my inquiry in time. On 26 September 2013, I learnt from the call center that they have no record of my claim because of a problem with the Gems email address. Amanda at the Worcester branch took my claim once again but told me that I now have to wait six to eight months and that there is no guarantee that I will be paid. I told her that this is not fair because it was not my fault but she says that there are not other ways around the computer system. I cant believe that Gems does not take any responsibility for this mistake and that I now have to wait so long not knowing that I will receive my money at all.
