I recently left discovery for Fed health. I sent a application through late June early July to be in effect from 01-09-13. I went in for a procedure on the 05-09-13 and now I am being told that my claim will not be honored and will be placed on a 12 month waiting period due to the fact that I am a new member and I had intentions joining just to get the procedure done. Just to state some facts, it was not a pre existing condition. I had only developed the problem about a week before the effective starting date and I am told that the other reason is because I called in a week before to confirm that I would be covered from the 1st, this is true but this was just to confirm that I was covered as I was leaving discovery, not because I wanted to check so that I could go for the Procedure because you have to remember that at the time I was still covered by discovery so the argument you are making is not valid, if the condition was pre-existing I would've just had it done while still with discovery. I am very unhappy with this situation. If it cannot be resolved then I'm just going to go ahead and cancel my membership. I did not leave discovery for this pathetic service
