Profmed infringing the law!

Profmed has gone against the law.
According to the medical act of 1998 section 12 (a) NO waiting period may be applied to a PMB condition.
And this is exactly what Profmed has done!
I wanted to collect my husband's chronic medication for Schizophrenia (which is a Prescribed minimum Benefit condition) - but the claims were rejected!
I phoned the call centre, and the call centre agent - Tebogo - advised me that my husband's condition has been placed on a waiting period. The more I tried to tell her it is illegal to put a PMB condition on a waiting period the more she only said that that is the way it is and that it is on a waiting period.

This is an infringement of the law.

Profmed please read the medical schemes act!

This should be rectified asap.

I will be taking this up with the council for medical schemes - as it seems Profmed think they are above the law!
