TOTAL DISRESPECT FOR A DEATH

My mother died aged 92 on 10 July 2012. I handled all her affairs and Discovery have my details. I notified Discovery, in July, by Registered mail, that my mother had died. I sent them a copy of the death certificate and the details of the Executors of the Estate. The Call centre confirmed receipt of the letter late July - too late to stop the August debit order going off my mother's bank account.
From September I started getting calls from Discovery, later came the letters then the debt was handed over to attorneys. Now I an getting final demands by SMS. I have passed all this on to the executors who tell me that Discovery has confirmed receipt of the letter from them.
The attorneys for the bad debt telephoned me a few weeks ago and I told them that my mother had died and that Discovery were aware of this fact but the demands do not stop.
Amount of the debt - approx R788. In life my mother never owed a cent to anyone. In death she is being hounded. I find the situation very distressing - no-one at Discovery will listen. I even got my broker to try to sort it out. It seems he failed. J Bailey
