DISCOVERY'S INCOMPETENT STAFF OF SHEER STUPIDITY

On 16 August, I submitted an application to add my Mother onto my Discovery medical plan, after confirming twice with 2 different call centre agents on 2 different days that this was possible. She is recently retired hence her previous medical aid terminates on 31 August 2013.I received no response from Discovery. I called this morning to query. I was told by a call centre agent that I cannot add my Mother to my policy, because she was previously on Discovery & Discovery does not allow upgrades. She is not upgrading her policy. Her policy terminates now. As she is now my dependent, I am adding her to my existing policy. Ironically Discovery would allow the addition onto my policy if my Mother wasn't on any medical aid yet refuses my application despite my Mother having a history of medical insurance with them for the last 20years. Because of Discovery's incompetence my Mother may have a period of non coverage. This is ludicrous! Does Discovery's "policy" really promote losing a long standing client to another medical aid? I am still awaiting a call back from a Manager. I am deeply disappointed with the level of service from Discovery Health. Discovery is fast losing it's good reputation.
