MATINGWE LODGE COMPLAINT- BAD SERVICE & ATTITUDE

Groupon Offer -Matingwe Lodge Bakkerspas Road Vaalwater. We phoned prior to check on condition of the dirt road, if a 4x4 was required, were told the road is in good condition & well graded. This was a great eye opener, just under 2 hours to cover 30kms & we damaged the undercarriage of our vehicle over thick aqua sand & rocks. At the Lodge, we got a very abrupt inhospitable welcome, where the house rules were stipulated. If we did not like or obey these, we could leave immediately-wow!! The Lodge originally been built by a Dutch family is outstanding, the rooms, decor; main reception areas are stunning. Housekeeping & cleanliness in the rooms desired attention-cobwebs in the shower, no complimentary soap, only old used soap, dirty drinking glasses. Not even a boma or lounge fire were on offer to warm us during this cold weekend. Next HUGE surprise- dinner which consisted of a lukewarm plate of small chicken pieces, in "out the pkt" insipid curry sauce &feta cheese, NO accompaniments, salad, bread rolls, pudding, or tea/coffee offered. Plates not even removed from table. Owner has a bad attitude & issues, he has a lot to learn in the hospitality industry, such a pity! Never again!
