2 WEEKS AGO I CALLED DISCOVERY SPOKE TO A CONSULTANT ADVISED HIM THAT I WAS PREGNANT AND WILL BE GOING TO MY GYNEA AND FOUND OUT HOW DO I MAKE A CLAIM AS MY GYNEA DOES NOT TAKE AUTHORIZATION NUMBERS. THE CONSULTANT EXPLAINED TO ME THAT I WILL NEED TO GET A CLAIM STATEMENT FROM MY GYNEA AND THEN EMAIL IT TO THE CLAIMS DEPARTMENT AT DISCOVERY. I ALSO ASKED THE CONSULTANT WHETHER I WILL BE CLAIMING FROM MY SPECIALIST BENEFIT PACKAGE AND THE CONSULTANT ADVISED THAT I WILL FIRST BE CLAIMING FROM THE ANTENATAL BENEFIT AND ONCE THESE FUNDS RUN OUT THEN I WILL BE USING FROM THE SPECIALIST BENEFIT PACKAGE. NO WHERE WAS I ADVISED THAT SHOULD BLOOD TESTS BE TAKEN AN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER WILL BE NEEDED. TODAY I CALL DISCOVERY CALL CENTRE SPOKE TO BRENDON EXPLAINED TO HIM THAT SOME BLOOD TESTS WERE TAKEN HOWEVER DISCOVERY DID NOT PAY BECAUSE I REQUIRED AN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER, BRENDON ADVISED THAT I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE BLOOD TESTS AS DISCOVERY CAN NOT BACK DATE AN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER. I TRULY BELIEVE THAT I WAS MISINFORMED BECAUSE I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ADVISED ABOUT THIS 2 WEEKS AGO THAT I MIGHT NEED AN AUTHORIZATION FOR BLOOD TESTS
