I've had it with Discovery Health. My wife went in for an operation and we followed all the procedures with regards to getting pre-authorisation. We did it via the pre-admissions department at the hospital. The hospital was informed that it was authorised and she did the operation. afterwards we found out that bills were not covered. When I contacted the call centre (and also being shunted around by incompetent people), they told me that it was authorised but their clinical department now needed more information. It has now become my problem. Tell me, when you go for a quote for a car service and they quote one amount and when you collect the the car they tell you the amount increased, would you be happy. This is unethical and akin to. How can you expect someone to pay for something after they were told it was authorised. What is the use of getting pre-authorisation. This is not the first time this happens. They just don't like paying although they will gladly take your money every month. I would not advise anybody to join them if they had a choice. And nobody gets back to you and the call centre agents won't allow you to speak to a manager.
