Claim refunded by Cheque in erro

I submitted a claim for payment made to a Dr for a refund to Discovery Health at the end of June 2013. I went onto the Discovery Website at the same time to ensure that all my details were up to date, including my bank account.

According to my Discover Statement, the refund was to be paid out to me on the 15th July 2013. When I followed-up on my refund on the 15th July 2013, i was advised that a cheque was created for me because they had no banking details for me. I enquired about this with another consultant and she confirmed that i did infact have banking details on the system and received an apology on the 18th July, where she confirmed that they will cancel theh cheque as soon as the cheque nr reflects on the system and an EFT would be done. I once again followed-up on the progress on Monday this week and the consultant then advised me that this process of cancelling the cheque takes between 6-8 weeks!!! this is completely unacceptable because firstly, It wasn't my fault that they submitted the cheque in the first place. The consultant was brave enought to tell me that there is a postal strike going on and it will probably take even longer.
