I registered with the Maternity program with the Metropolitan Medical Scheme in March 2013. Firstly, part of the benefits of paying this medical aid is getting advice from the midwives. In 6 months of my pregnancy my midwife has only contacted at least 3 times. Secondly, all my claims have been rejected and no effort from the maternity department!!! WRONG codes were given to me on my care plan prohibiting my gynae from processing any claim. The code states that I have a (DISPROPORTED BABY). When I took this up with the relevant department, they argued multiple times that it was the correct codes... After a continuous back and forth (me explaining why my codes are wrong) my doctor also had to call in and STILL, complete inconsistency. I have wasted so much time and airtime and not one person could return my call and help me. I was being sent from one department to the next and seems like no one knows what's going on there. Eventually, I emailed the department on the email address my 'midwife' gave : [Email Removed] with the bills attached and demanded any response but still, a week and nothing!
