Discovery's service is shocking! I moved from a less reputable medical aid provider in hopes that I will have a more pleasant experience with Discovery much to my disappointment that was not a good move. I was poorly briefed on the option I chose as I later on discovered that I'm poorly covered I therefore had to pay cash on two occasions where it was an emergency and I wasn't in 'my network' . Secondly I'm not covered for over the counter meds, cash out of my wallet again. Thirdly I'm told I cant change my option until the new year and I was told to basically 'shut up and put up or leave' . When I asked to leave my request wasn't processed that was a month ago. The final straw is that I was booked in for an emergency op today but had to cancel as the authorization code will take anything between 8hrs and 7 days to process, so basically I must just suffer in pain while Discovery sources the 'all important ' code. Bare in mind that the specialist who is operating is already booked up for the next two weeks. Thank you Discovery for allowing me first hand experience as to why so many of your existing members are unhappy. Lesson learnt!
