Ocean View Hotel
Poor Experience!!!

Most recently (Sunday, 30 June 2013) I had the opportunity to celebrate a birthday at the Ocean View Hotel and Restaurant in Strand. The celebration itself was diminished by a less than adequate food preparation and food quality.
The first course itself was a Potato and Leek soup with Blue Cheese; however the dish itself was too salty for human consumption. When the soup was returned it was replaced by an equally salty soup.
The 2nd course was chicken, meat, sliver of butternut and 2 baby potatoes cut in half. The meat was tuff to a point that some guest's at my table simply left it. Another patron at my table mentioned that the boiled chicken was undercooked. Some guest did not even receive the sliver of butternut but were compensated with extra potatoes.
Dessert was something unusual in my books but I might not be gourmet enough to understand it. I never ate lukewarm malva pudding with ice cream before. The ice cream was nice.
The floor staff did their utmost to appease the guests during this time however I think they were let down tremendously by the kitchen and their staff as well as the preparation of the food.
