First Resorts Management
Selling of unit without notification

Health & Medicine

Hi Peter
My father bought a two week block at the Riviera resort at Seapoint in 1989 for R10 000. When I visited my elderly parents last week I discovered that this had been sold without their knowledge. My father is adamant that he was never informed. He is very meticulous and kept all paperwork including the original contract. He did not pay his levy in 2012.
The levies are also exceptionally high at R3100 per week at the moment.
I just feel that my father is being unfairly dealt with;
Firstly because his units were sold without consulting with him.
Second, because his initial investment is at least four times as valuable now and that he should be given the opportunity to decide for himself what he wants to do with it; i.e. selling it. Or he should be given other worthwhile and lively options in the hospitality industry without having to spend more. I really feel that if my father is not welcome anymore that he should be compensated for his original investment.
Thirdly I think his levy was very high and is a deterrent to any investor.
Andre
