The Blades, Pretoria - passing the buck

Our company's year-end function was hosted at The Blades on Friday, 30 November 2013. On the day of the function we were informed that The Blades would be hosting another function in the same hall early the following morning and we were told by Jodi (General Manager) that all the decor and items that had been rented by us would be safely stored in an adjacent room until we could collect it. When we left the venue all the decor, etc was still in the hall and left in good order. The company that supplied us with the props and decor came to collect the goods on Monday 3 December 2012 and found lots of items missing (to the value of R10, 000). We were issued with an invoice for the missing goods. We numerously approached the Blades to find out where the goods were. They were not forthcoming or helpful, simply shrugged their shoulders. The service was good until they received their payment. After that we were rebuffed. They made not attempt to remedy the situation.
