On the 1st January, I took my 17 year old son to Casualty. The person who pushes wheelchairs asked my son if his foot was sore, and my son replied yes. No wheelchair supplied; he had to hop to casualty. We were made to wait for 5 hours in casualty, out of that, 2 hours were unnecessary. Something was only done when I threw my toys out the cot and demanded that we be attended to. The blame was put on me for sitting outside where the overflow was sitting, due to lack of chairs inside.

The doctor who attended him didnt seem to know his stuff; the nurse gently explained things to him. Scary. I had to organise a wheelchair for my son, otherwise he would have to have hopped to the ward on admission. And then there is too much poor service to mention here - the floor manager would come and greet every morning, but my son asked her for something and she never helped him, so why does she ask if everything is ok when she does nothing about what she is told is not ok? The urine bottle stood at his bed unemptied for 2 days. Painkillers when requested were not provided first time round. The drip on his hand kept coming undone and was just left. Catering was atrocious. The list goes on.
