Disappointing service with regards to quotes

We recently bought a house that needs some repairs. Before we knew we needed a CoC, we got a very reasonable FREE quote from Pieter at Electrosurgeon, to get the house up to standard.

Later when we realised we needed a CoC, Johan at ElectroSurgeon insisted that we pay R1000 for a quote, but that it would include a CoC. We kept telling him that we only want him to give us a quote for fixing the house up to standard, and that we would get the CoC at a later stage. He insisted that it was not possible and that we would have to pay R1000 for him to give us a quote.

We thought that since the previous ElectroSurgeon quote was so reasonable, that it would be worthwhile to pay R1000 for Johan to give us a quote (which would then include the CoC). Big mistake! On the quote he gave us, he charged more on almost every unit than the other quote. After we enquired about the high prices, he even insisted always putting on a 50% markup. It is just ridiculous.

We were not happy with Johan's attitude when he came to our house, and we are not happy that the same branch could charge such different prices. We will pay the R1000 for the quote, but we certainly won't use Electrosurgeon ever again.
