An HP Printer, less than 2 years old, was taken to Cresta HP Shop in early January for repair to a "Print Head Failure" message. R350 was paid for the "service" which involve sending the unit to their authorised repairer, only for the word to eventually come back that "this unit is out of warranty and cannot be repaired as spares are not available". Calls to HP's complaints department were met with arrogance and attitude; "Be my guest and report us to whoever you wish! " (name and tel no known!) I have no expectation that the unit should be repaired under warranty (although I understand that a 2 year warranty exists on these units) but simply that at least basic parts should be available for at least 2 years!! Although I am aware that printers have become disposable items, an expensive item like this one should be repairable for a reasonable period after purchase.
It has take 6 weeks from the time of handing in the unit for repairs for me to be told "your problem" and for HP to walk away! Acceptable service from a multinational company, I think not?
