Unecessary work performed

Cars & Transport

I had my car towed in for an overheating problem on the 18th of March, the service lady phoned me and gave me a list of things that needed to be replaced and knowing nothing about cars I gave the go- ahead. I requested a cope of the quote to see what can be paid by my warranty
plan, when I saw the invoice payable I nearly had a heart attacck- on the list were things like new breaks and windscreen wipers. The manager told me they check these things for my safety, and I said I would rinstruct those kinds of things to be checked when I want them to be checked.

The toptal invoice amounts to R 11383.66 of which an amount of R 5940.00 is for labour (this is not even a full days' labour) and R 1120 for breaks that I knew nothing of, and R 800 for front wipers and R122.80 for a back wiper. There is also an amount of R 518.00 for accesories which means nothing to me.

Why do an overall on the car when I had it towed in for over heating? I also dispute the details of the job card which states my car was not starting (not true) and that they had to do an over all check on teh car (not true).
