Overcharging Labour & unnecessary part replacement

Cars & Transport

Firstly:

Being charged for 20 minutes of labour for the replacement of windshield wipers. When enquiring why two windshield wipers were replaced when one was brand new (I had repalced myself) I was told they are only sold in two's. I then emailed a different branch for a quote on a single windshield wiper, which I recieved. So they are sold seperately. I was shown, litterally within seconds how the windshield wiper was replaced.
I was then also charged 20 minutes 20 minutes labour for changing a single lightbulb. When complaining about this I was told the labour prices were standard.

The car only required that single part be replaced for the clutch to work again. Instead the entire clutch was replaced, at a huge cost, and parts which were not damaged were removed. When I required why the mechanic told me that it was for 'in case'. I was also told that erosion had damaged some of the parts when the clutch broke. But the car was brought in by the garage within an hour of breaking down. So no erosion could have happened from a part which had just broken.
