Extensive damage to goods moved by SSS Removals

We recently moved our home and office with SSS Removals in Secunda from Trichardt in Mpumalanga to a storage facility in Brackenfell, Cape Town.

We were present when our furniture was loaded in order to ensure that certain pieces were treated with the necessary care and to sort it in such a manner that the different locations' goods would stay together for easy re-location to the different locations it would eventually be delivered to. However, we later learned that our furniture had been re-arranged the evening before departure, which made re-location from storage very difficult.

The off-loading to the storage units was, in one word, shocking. Boxes and furniture were stacked on top of one another in such a way that some fell over onto the doors and made it difficult to open. Boxes and even plastic crates were damaged and space was not used economically.

All furniture was bubble wrapped and secured with card board where necessary and still we suffered extensive damage to many of our valuable pieces.

Since we did not report any damage within 14 days, due to the fact that the goods were in storage for a month, they did not pay out any claims.
