Nonsense policies and red tape!

I booked a Group N vehicle through SAA Voyager some time ago and collected the vehicle yesterday, only to discover that I am liable for R45k if the vehicle is damaged (accident) or. I asked to make the additional payment waive this, as is normal practice, but was then told that I would have to cancel the contract and pay for the rental myself as this could not be done via SAA Voyager bookings. This is just absurd! Why can I not like any other client pay AVIS money to waive the liability? I have done it on a previous booking a year ago in Durban so I fail to see why it can't be done now.

I phoned the call center and they said you can. I then phoned Gautrain again and they said you can't. Phoned the national call center again and after 20 minutes waiting, they told me you no you can't. This is just absurd!

Could someone from AVIS with the appropriate authority and sense please contact me to resolve this nonsense!
