Poor show Europcar!!

Rented a car from Europcar in Cape Town. When i returned it on the 4th of Dec the car was in perfect condition. The person that inspected it when I returned it confirmed everything was ok after he had a good look all around the vehicle. He took the key and I proceeded to the terminal and checked in for my flight. When I arrived in the departure lounge, I received a sms saying "Please be aware that Europcar have generated a damage/loss claim..."?? It took me a good 30 minutes of about 15 phone calls; being passed from one person to the other next. Their CT branch does not even answer their phones - I witnessed this in person when I took the car; stood in a queue for 40min with the phones ringing off the hook and no one answering! Out of the 10 - odd counters available to serve customers, only TWO were manned! This on a Saturday!?!
When I eventually manage to speak to a semi intelligible person, i was told that the vehicle's left rear bumper was damaged. AGAIN?? I DID NOT DAMAGE THE VEHICLE! In any case; was the person that inspected the vehicle blind / drunk? THEY damaged the vehicle when they took it to refuel! TWO WEEKS LATER AND NO WORD AND THEY STILL HAVE MY DEPOSIT!!
