I purchased "new" brake disks for my car 49 000 kilometers ago.
Break disks have a life span of around 200 000km.
At 20 000km - after replacement the left hand front disk had to be replaced. I was expected to pay for the replacement part, but after several arguments Sandown Motors resolved the problem - not sure how.
Today I was told that the right hand front disk had to be replaced - this after 49000km.
I complained that this was unacceptable and refused to pay for the part, which has clearly proved to be either of an inferior quality or is a pirate part which does not provide the same lifespan one would expect.
The ongoing attitude of Sandown Motors that the customer must just pay whatever they demand is ridiculous in the extreme and is totally unacceptable.
Not only is it unacceptable but it is in breach of the Consumer Protection Act.
