Sandown Motors
Repair taking over 1 1/2 months

Cars & Transport

On the 27 June 2013 my mercedes-Benz C280 was towed to Sandown motors as it was not turning on. After the checks it was found that the steering lock mechanism was broken and had to be replaced. This part had to be sent from Germany but i had to send through original documentation of ownership etc. This was couriered to Germany for the part to be released. i sent through all the documents on the 2 July 2013 and was told that we should have the part within a week. 1 week passed and i was then told it would take a little longer as they had not received the part. I waited a few days and phoned again to be told that the car would be ready on the 25 July 2013. I again emailed today to see when i could fetch the car and was told that part sent over was wrong and that a new part had to be re-ordered and the car would only be ready on the 8 August 2013 . I was offered a courtesy car but was also told that if i had an accident in it I would be responsible for the excess which would be R20000. The service received is totally unacceptable from a well known service provider and to have to wait for 1 1/2 months for a car to be repaired is a joke. Sandown Motors need to sort themselves out
