We hired a car for July and 5 days before the pick up, cancelled the booking. They were going to charge us for 75% YES 75% for the total bill and only refund 25%. Obviously anyone with a brain would not accept this and the consumer act is meant to protect us from this, right. Clients may cancel there transaction and get a full refund??? mmm So we opted for the Credit. Then in Aug, we were going to Cape Town and wanted to used the credit, only to be told we may only use the credit if it is for the full 4 days hire as per the original contract. It is my credit isn't it, I may use my money as an when I like it, Should I not. I know 1 Day car hire is more expensive than 4 days, but its my choice. So I opted to use another company. And requested a full refund. I received 25% of my money back. I have been trying to call Cindy the manager on 082 786 6376, but is never available. who will help me. Or must we seek legal advice using the consumer protection act. To take R1023.00 for cancellation and admin fees is totally unethical. I nor my family or friends, business partners or suppliers will never us your services again. And we use a ot of Car hire companies.
