BMW South Africa
Unacceptable costs while under motor plan

Cars & Transport

I own a BMW 320i, 2011model, which is still under motor plan. About 3 weeks ago my vehicle service indicator showed that it was due for a service (100km). I made a service booking at Lyndhurst Auto for a week later, 29-04-13, which was the soonest I could get. I unfortunately could not take my vehicle in that Monday as my father-in-law had passed away and I had to drive to Durban. I informed Lyndhurst Auto of this and re-booked my vehicle for the next soonest available date, which was another week later.

In the interim my vehicle service indicated that it was now -2000km overdue. I then contacted Auto Bavaria in Midrand and was able to secure a service booking much sooner.(Mon 13-05-13). When brought my vehicle in I was told that I had to now pay an amount of R1 700 to have the vehicle checked because I had exceeded the allowable limit by a 1000km, which the motor plan does not cover. I was told by Auto Bavaria that was required by BMW SA and they could not help me. I contacted BMW twice and spoke to Tebogo and explained the situation and I would be able to provide a death certificate. I was forced to pay the amount and nobody from BMW has contacted me to date.
