Standard Bank private banker walks the extra mile

I need to give credit where it is due - Thanks a million to Elaine van der Merwe, private banker at Standard Bank Hatfield for the extra mile she walked for me this second week in January. I had written off my vehicle in December and sitting waiting for the insurance to pay out I got lucky and found a private vehicle sale bargain on a Saturday. It was such a bargain that I paid the seller a bit of cash to keep it till Monday but he was already trying to get out of the deal. So we came to an agreement that he will keep the vehicle for me till Monday afternoon. Unfortunately the Insurance funds were not in my account yet so I had to arrange for a big emergency overdraft with the bank not to lose the deal. Elaine working off email and trust arranged me the overdraft and also arranged the payment to the seller. She even phoned the customer and put his mind at ease as to the payment even at risk to herself.
I can only commend such service and wish all the companies in South Africa walked the extra mile like Elaine did for me - she is an inspiration to us all!
