How can a company survive with this attitude?

Yesterday morning i went to the local branch to apply for a speedpoint. 36 hours later i had no respone so i phone them. after being transfered to a operator he told me to be patient as their normal response time is 3 to 4 working days from the time they receive an application untill they will contact the applicant. i cant believe they are still in bussiness. what happenend to customer relations and or service. do they have a monopoly or are they just being reluctend. i sincerely hope they get oposition from somewhere.
