Sterling Debt Recoveries
Vodacom account not mine!

I just received a "Final Reminder" from Sterling for a Vodacom Account of R685, 58. It threatens with "warrants of execution" and so on for an account that does not belong to me. A lady phoned in Feb 2013 informing me of the account that was in arrears. She demanded payment immediately and being a person with reasonable intelligence I politely requested proof of the account. She could not provide me with the account number or cell number and so I told her that I wont make payment unless I am provided with proof of the account. She, nor Sterling ever got back to me until today when I received the notice in regular mail. In the meantime I enquired with Vodacom and they informed me that there was only one account on my name and it is the more recent iPad deal that is happily running on flawless debit order. How can they get to this stage without providing me with proof of the account. They did not even get the postal address correct. They need to check their facts between themselves and Vodacom before they threaten people.
