Account not being downsized 5 months late

I did request FNB to change my account from Cheque to a Smart saving account in November 2012.

Since then, I was still being billed for a cheques account until March. In March 2013 I asked the branch consultant to assist (she seemed not to know much and even asked me to close the account or talk to her manager).

After speaking to the Branch Manager who was more helpful than the staff member, she managed to reverse all the bank charges form November to date (March) and promised to follow up on the actual account being changed to a savings account.

Today (2 weeks later) I verified and noticed that my account is still a cheque account and has not been converted.

Can someone at FNB please do their jobs and give me a feedback.

PS: during the entire process no feedback was given to me unless I physically walked in the branch.
