I recently cancelled my Outsurance policy having found alternative, cheaper insurance. As my premium had already gone off, Outsurance owes me a refund. I was told that I would have to wait till May to receive my refund. I argued that this was ridiculous and unacceptable. I was then told that if I wanted it sooner I would need to send them a bank statement-banking details. How is it that Outsurance expects prompt payment but when it comes to refunding, can take a month? Their request for banking details is ridiculous considering that they have these for the debit order instruction. If proof of banking details was required, then Outsurance should have requested same at the commencement of the policy. But perhaps that was too much red tape; but not when the tables are turned. I faxed Outsurance stating my unhappiness about this to which I have received no reply. Its not the amount, but the principal. Will never use this company again.
