Huge Bank Charges Dissapointment

I am very disappointed with Absa considering I have been a loyal client with you for almost 8 years now. I recently decided to change my bank account to the Potentiate account taking into account my exorbitant bank charges. When changing the consultant told me to my amazement that this was >R500 pm?! He also stated that I was on a pay as you transact account (of which I never agreed to). Knowing that I had a cheque account I assumed that, at the most my charges would be /- R100 at the most. The sad thing about this is, after numerous request i.e. going to the branch and requesting postage of my b/s monthly (of which I'm aware is part and parcel of having a cheque account) I still haven't received this, If i did I would have raised this a long time ago and not has this issue.

I would appreciate an explanation as a refund for the charges from the time i was placed on a 'pay as you transact' account failing with I shall forward my concerns to the ombudsman.
