I was standing on a lot doing a trade-in on a new model of my 2011 vehicle, same engine size etc. This was 8 March 2013. Around 12h00 I phoned Discovery to add the new vehicle and they gave me a very high premium, 35% over the current, for the same type of car. I was planning on driving the vehicle off the floor later that same afternoon. The sales person said he can get it lower but it will have to go to another department. I requested that he do so, and explained that I need the quote ASAP. Four hours later I was still waiting! It was nearing closing time now, so I called a competitor and in 10 minutes I was insured at a 40% lower premium than quoted by Discovery. The next day the Discovery person only he got back to me! By that time I was already driving the vehicle. Now to add insult to injury, Discovery proceeded to debit my bank account for the old full premium last night, including the vehicle I deleted of my profile on 8 March already! What a circus! I won't recommend them to my worst enemy...
