Ripping off an Existing Client

I used to have a car insured through Discovery Insure at a very reasonable premium of about R500 per month. I sold the car and got a company car, hence having to cancel the insurance.

I have just bought another car (used) of similar value and year to my old vehicle and have come back to Discovery Insure as I was very pleased with the product.

I was however absolutely shocked and disgusted when the consultant quoted me over R2400 per month for insurance. I do understand that there are factors which have changed, but it does not take a genius to realize that this is a blatant rip off and exploitation of loyal customers as the premium quoted is BEYOND ridiculous, in fact it is more than DOUBLE my payments on the car itself.

I have a top of the range medical aid policy with Discovery and was a long standing insurance customer and honestly feel this is a huge SLAP IN THE FACE.

I am terribly disappointed with Discovery as they obviously do not value good customer relationships. My relationship with Discovery leaves something to be desired and I am seriously starting to reconsider the continuation of ALL services through the Discovery Group.
