I logged a query with Discovery Insure to get a quote for my vehicle, building, and home contents. I received a call last week Wednesday. I was give a price. I then asked the consultant to please query why the price was so high as I was previously with Discovery Insure and I moved away because I was not satisfied with their service. I was advised by my broker that the service has improved hence one of the reasons my interest in the quotation. I was told I would be give a preferential rate as I have my medical aid, Vitality, Life insurances for my wife and myself and as well as my credit card. The quote was much higher than when I was previously insured with Discovery insure and my risk profile has decreased as the time period from my last claim to present is longer than when I was initially insured with them. I asked for an explanation and the consultant told me that I have a different vehicle (indicating my present vehicle is more expensive / higher risk). I then advised him that I had the same vehicle insured with them prior to this. He said he would log a query with a senior person. It will be a week tomorrow and still no response.
