Discovery Insure
Deducting 4 times amount of policy in one month

At the end of Jan 2013 i decided to trade my previous vehicle in and buy a new one. I contacted my insurance company (Discovery Insure) and requested a quote for the new vehicle. The quote supplied was in line with my current budget - R730 so I gave them the go ahead. On the 1st of Feb 2013, I arrived at the dealership and confirmation of insurance was sent after I gave Discovery my vehicle details. I confirmed before that the previous vehicle's insurance would be cancelled and it was confirmed that it would end on the day I took delivery of the new vehicle. It is now the 2nd of March 2013 and Discovery Insure has deducted R2653.51 off my account. I'm surprised how they have they can deduct almost 4 times the amount and they get it authorised. no one has contacted me or informed me. I understand pro rata BUT 4 times the amount. Conveniently this happens on a Saturday and allow me no time to rectify the situation. I know have to wait until Monday to firstly find out how this happened and secondly if i can be refunded. I feel this is abuse of rights to one's account and want to understand how Insurance companies get away with it!!?? VERY UNHAPPY CLIENT!!
