Numerous requests to close bank account

We have a bank account at ABSA. After receiving generally dismal service from ABSA, we have made numerous requests to the responsible party to close this bank account from October 2012. After no reply for several months, we received notification that our account had a negative balance (because bank fees were still being charged on the account and we had since transferred funds to FNB). We then further requested the account to be closed and forwarded previous correspondence, and the following month were notified again that further bank fees were being levied to the account, and furthermore the credit card was still being charged. The person responsible now falsely claims that she was unaware which account we wanted closed, even though this is clearly in all correspondence. As of 20 March 2013 the account is still open. Our private banker does not even respond to calls or emails on this issue.
