Not able to cancel debit orde

Money is being deducted from my account and I have no idea who it is. Even visiting the branch and explaining the situation to them does not make any difference. According to them I have to declare a dispute before they will take any action. How the can I do that if I do not know who the person/business is?

This is ABSURD to say the least. I should be able to cancel ANY debit order if I wish to do so. Ag well, ...
