My fianc? passed away 2010-10-22. He had a credit card and a current account with Standard Bank for quite some time. On the Monday my mother and I went to our head branch in Secunda where we informed them of his passing. They said that they won't be able to assist me seeing that we weren't married and that his parents need to come in and close the accounts with the Trust name and number of him. He didn't have a trust fund seeing that he didn't leave anything behind (no pension, life cover etc)
Standard bank phoned me in the same week and requested a copy of his death certificate and his id document so that they can close the accounts (he had insurance on his accounts) I took the original documents in to our branch where a consultant made copies (male) but still every month someone phones me on behalf of Standard bank and asks me to fax his death certificate to them. It's been going on monthly ever since and still no one closed these accounts. I'm really fed up with this now seeing that it's unprofessional from Standard Bank!!
What more can I do so that this can be sorted out?? I've spoken to consultant's numerous of times and even to the company phoning every time as well
