After calling the call centre and told that I needed to take my ID book to close a business account, I went to Nedbank Pavilion on Tuesday to do this. The "business banker" then proceeded to spend 15 minutes fiddling with his computer, at no stage updating me as to what he was doing etc. All the while I had my two year old asking me when we were going to leave. He then called someone to assist him, who did, still not updating me. A colleague mentions to him in passing the "requirements" to close the account - the remaining cheques. I told him that I needed this sorted out soon and when could I see him again. He stood there asking when I could come, making no move to look at his diary or try and assist further. Eventually we settled on Thursday at 10am and he promised to call me in the meantime to tell me of ALL the requirements needed to close the account. No call so I didn't go to the scheduled meet up. At 11h30 on Thursday he calls me to tell me they need to FICA to close the account. I'm extremely irritated because I still don't know the actual requirements to close the account. I WILL NOT pay for any bank charges beyond Tuesday. This account was meant to be closed already!
