Easier to open an account than to close one!

I decided to pay up & close my Nedbank credit card. I called the call centre, got a settlement amount, paid it & called them back to close the account. Then I received a call from who I assume was their retentions department to try to convince me otherwise but I informed Jermaine that' I am not interested.

He then confirmed that the account will be closed & a credit balance of R40-odd will be transferred to my current account & that I should receive confirmation of the closure. This all happened last week & I thought that was the end of the matter.

However, when I accessed my Internet banking this morning, I was surprised to see that my credit card account is still open & now has a debit balance of R40-odd instead of the credit balance of last week. I am currently on holiday & can't be phoning around after nedbank to sort out something that should have been done by last week!

If this is not sorted out by close of business today, I will also close my current account & move to a different bank!!!

NOT IMPRESSED!
