Over charged, after waiting a month for help!

I originally contacted Nexia to help me do my income tax. A simple individual return. They quoted me R600 VAT which is very steep considering everyone can do this level of tax, but I agreed so I could get the task out of the way. I supplied them with everything they needed and then didn't hear from them for a month! After complaining of poor service they eventually helped me. After I got my tax return they sent me a bill for R980.40, a third more than quoted, and then refused to explain the additional 'Assessment' charge.
