Doing anything to not honour account closure

Okay, I have been trying to close my Standard Banks accounts for 3 months now. The accounts have been dormant for this period. Zero transactions.

While trying close accounts I had to deposit values to get the balances back to zero. Right, paid the outstanding balances and march off to the bank. Within 7 days I magically get billed for items which means I need to transfer more money.

Transfer more money, and get my one of 2 accounts closed. Go back to the branch, and all of a sudden more bank fees appear for ridiculous deposit fee values. So now I must pay MORE again.

All I want to do is leave but these leeches persist in refusing to close my accounts and creating whatever ridiculously high transactions they see fit to make me pay fees in an endless cycle. I am basically paying for absolutely zero service while having to waste more time out my day to visit these people in person, only to be charged over and over for nothing.

I get told at my branch that no one is on duty in order to close the account. What type of fool do you think I am trying to pass off such a lame excuse in order to purposefully refuse my request to close the account?

I just want this nightmare to end.
