I have been a customer with standard bank for over a year now and each time i do an application for anything my id gets referred to the department, you would expect that after being a customer for over a year this would not happen after the first time, but its happened 5 time now, i have asked at the branch and they dont know and today (14-01-2013) i spoke to Gontse from General Banking services and after she told me which number to call i asked to speak to a team leader, she put me on hold for 7min, hoping that i will put the phone down, this is the kind of service i have been getting form this bank for over a year, they are so quick to employ unqualified and uneducated people who are not trained properly and they end up not being able to assist customers while their bosses sit in their airconditioned offices and dont give a about normal customer service, i have had to close my account due to this horrible service where people at Standard Bank just dont know.
