I spoke to Jabulani at the call centre and advised him that I am no longer employed therefor I would like to close my account. He gave me a settlement balance which I paid while speaking to him. I paid from an FNB account and he could see the payment reflecting immediately. He advised me that you has logged a request for my account to be closed and this would have been done within 48 hours. The ref number he gave me was 2724023282 on 8 February 2013. Round the 2nd of March I noticed the account was still open and spoke to another lady in the call centre (cant recall name). She promised to get a manager to call me back as the info she gave me was completely different to that of Jabulani. A manager or team leader NEVER called me back. I did receive a voicemail from the same lady last week Monday 4 March 2013 where she advised the account will be closed before the end of the day. Guess what? The account is still open. I received in sms today that I now need to pay R31.25 for a monthly card fee. Please see this as my last complaint to have the account closed before I report this to the Ombudsman. MY REQUEST IS SIMPLE. REVERSE THE MONTHLY CARD FEE AND CLOSE THE ACCOUNT.
