DEBT THAT WAS RESOLVED 18 YEARS AGO

My husband had a Std bank home loan which he handed back to the bank, this was about 18 years ago, today this cheeky woman phones him and tells him his home loan (which he no longer has) is in arrears and will be handed over. Between 5 and 10 years back we had the same problem with a debt collector and it was referred to the Ombudsman and retracted, as no debt was longer outstanding. In the meantime we have a clear credit record and have purchased a Home (ironically trough Std bank) and we have bought vehicles, and now these debt collectors tell us we owe them money, we will forward all the received documents to our lawyers to sort out, as it is disgusting that after 18 years vultures try to scavenge "bad debt" from people.
