Standard Bank cheap bank charges comes with price

We require a foreign currency account to "park" our proof of "settlement funds" required for immigration. On Monday I tried in vain to call Standard Banks "branch customer care center to try and get connected with my local branch in Stellenbosch to speak to somebody who could advise me on the issue. No luck, nobody in Stellenbosch answered their phone. I am allergic to the inside of branches because you are guaranteeing to be stuck in a q behind somebody who doesn't even understand the most basic of banking practices. So I left a message for somebody to call me back. Still no luck. Every time you call the call centre, you wait a minimum of 10 minutes before they answer. Eventually after getting seriously annoyed over the phone, SB Stellenbosch got their broker to phone me! He quickly realised there was no money for him to be made and I was told that the only person who can open a foreign currency account is in Cape Town, AND this person will only be back the next Tuesday. There is nobody at the Stellenbosch branch who can assist me. I urgently need this account to submit our application, but because Standard Bank sees customers care as expendable, I have to wait another week.
