Never knew a claim will take 4 years to settle!

My father died in 2009 - My stepsister were only 18 and were left to handle the claim that she knew nothing about. She went to my fathers Broker from Sanlam Paul Cloete for help, made a appointment everything, but he was a no show!
I took over the claim to see if i can try to settle it since i was working for an insurance company myself. There were still documents outstanding and i sent it to them. It has been a month since i sent the documents and still no feedback! The person working with the claim is Portia Hoffman. In a month time she couldn't even sent me a mail to let me know they are still working on the claim... I phone the call center every week, for the past 4 weeks - and still no feedback... they only say they are going to sent the request to Portia - and then nothing happens... i wonder if she reads her mail...???

So I'm asking you - why do you use a Broker if he can't even help you with a claim?

I'm asking myself... are my children also going to wait 4 years before my insurance pay out?

Maybe i should consider cancelling my policy with Sanlam?
