Delay in Processing of Claim

After having the traumatic experience of having my home burgled on 7th February 2013. I started the arduous attempt to claim for my insurance. For the first time.

Firstly my calls to the CC were not successful. My insurance claims department only works till 5pm and their emergency hotline rung engaged on each of the 5 or 6 occasions I tried them. In an emergency??!
I got booked off from work to handle the process. My claim was handled by a consultant who got the affected door and gate secured while the claim processed. That building claim that is.
Yesterday (18th Feb), I still await for the sliding door and security gate to be completed. According to the insurer, they are the only contractor they use. These service levels are really pathetic.
My home content claim has been standing since 8 February. This has now been almost two weeks since I first lodged the claim!
Now I dont know the timelines normally used in processing a claim but this seems rather long. I have been promised the moon and stars when signing up. now i just await the excuses. I don't think this is how they should be treating a client.
Dial Direct is letting me down!
