Standard Bank
Penalising me for wanting to Settle My HomeLoan

Business & Finance

Dear Standard Bank - I find it ridiculous that I am not able to adjust my 90-day notice on the settlement of my home loan account. I am being told I have to wait for the existing notice to expire and can only give new notice after that and wait for another 90-days before I can do anything! This is pathetic! Why can't I give new notice today? Why can't you adjust? I now have to put everything on hold for Standard Bank? You penalise customers every which way you can! I want to settle my debt and if I don't give you notice there are penalties, now that I am trying to adjust the notice to align with all my planning, I am being penalised as well??? This is not service and this is certainly not the way things should work! You tie my hands and I can do nothing! To be told by your call centre that this is just the way it is, is unacceptable - I am wanting to give you 90-days' notice from today that I intend settling the bond and I can't do that! So what that I put a notice through in January? You are not the only part of a wheel involved in transactions and I have to juggle everything to suite you - I know now more than anything why I can't wait to leave your bank!
